Client Testimonials

“Dr. White makes your life bright!”

- Kurt

“I have been seeing Dr. White for four years, and I have greatly benefited from her inclusive approach to mental health care, which considers the whole person. She employs multiple tools to achieve whole-body healing and demonstrates genuine care by actively listening to her patients' concerns.

I appreciate the individualized care plan she creates, which includes establishing the right medications to suit my needs. Additionally, she utilizes her knowledge of vitamins and their effects on the mind and body. For instance, she prescribed a large dose of Omega-3, which positively influences the function of neurotransmitter receptors that aid cognitive functions. She also ordered blood work to identify any underlying causes of imbalance. In my case, it revealed a mutation in the MTHFR gene, which can lead to issues like depression, ADHD, and brain fog. The blood work also showed deficiencies in my zinc, vitamin D, and B levels, all of which impact cognitive and psychological processes.

I am open about my journey, and I feel strongly about sharing it with others, along with the exceptional care I have received.

I will continue to recommend Dr. Angela White to anyone who shares their struggles with me. Her outstanding approach to mental health care deserves recognition.

Angela, I appreciate you; you are a fabulous doctor! May the Lord bless you!!!Numbers 6: 24-25”

Client Testimonials

“Heather is the most kind and conscientious practitioner I have ever encountered, and I have worked in the medical field for 30 years. Don't even give choosing her a second thought. You will be so very happy that you did.”

- Cherri

“Let me start by saying how much I love Heather Burson APRN!!!!! She is my life saver in many ways, and thank you so much for that 🩷. I am 48 years old and have had my fair share with mental health struggles, unfortunately. I myself always thought I had bipolar but my past therapist never clued in on this, even with me mentioning it to them. Fast forward my life to a person who has moved to another state and has no clue how to navigate the insurance systems here in Florida, and being I have ADHD plus much more, this was a big struggle for me.

The insurance is the reason I went 6 months without medication because I didn't have medications to function. Every psychiatry office I called in Fleming Island, Florida, was no longer treating ADHD and to top it off, the rule is only 1 psychiatrist at a time. Then, after trying one more time, I found Heather Burson APRN, which not only got me in quickly, she could treat all of my mental health disorders.

The very fist visit with her and I was diagnosed with guess what...Bipolar 2 disorder and she has continued with me in my journey every step of the way. She is very compassionate and so joyful with a smile every visit. She has changed my medication around, and I have never felt better. Need I mention this all done by video call visits at the convenience of my home. She has a very wonderful bedside manner and I have never been so happy as I am now with her and her staff.

The staff is very friendly and attentive anytime I have ever reached out with questions. Heather Burson APRN is also quickly to respond to text messages or portal messages. Please learn from me that you will be more than happy you made that call to her !!!!! Let this be your new peace.”

“MARICAR BANA was very hopeful and informative she actually listened to my issues and heard what was going on so that way my problems could be addressed it is very refreshing and comforting to have somebody actually take the time and hear what's going on with you personally so that way any and all issues can be resolved. “Mari is truly a gifted energy healer with a radiant spirit. I've had the pleasure of experiencing several in-person Reiki sessions with her, and I'm eager to try distance Reiki soon. Each session with Mari felt transformative, as if a heavy burden had been lifted, leaving me with a profound sense of tranquility and emotional relief. From the moment we connect, I always feel genuinely supported and nurtured by her, both during and after our sessions. I appreciate how she seamlessly integrates sound healing and aromatherapy, creating a comprehensive healing experience. Mari's intuition is remarkable; she always seems to know exactly what I need in each session. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone seeking a truly transformative healing journey.”

- Chelsea

“I had my first virtual Reiki experience with Mari recently, and it was exactly what I didn't know I needed! It's been years since I had a Reiki session, and my last one was in person, so I went into this one with an open mind and no expectations per se. Mari held an inviting and calm space for me to be welcome whatever came up. She provided quality preparation info without getting too detailed up front which I appreciated. I think that would've kept my brain turned on :)

Mari's voice (quite soothing) helped me slow down, tune in, and get grounded for setting some intentions, and off I went for a deep, relaxing experience. It felt almost like lucid dreaming, tension and leftover anxiety from the day melted away. The benefits I felt initially were a visceral and full body mental, physical, and emotional calming. With her encouragement, I allowed myself to rest immediately after and keep soaking it in. The debrief a few days later was fascinating going through the cards and meanings. I was able to receive interesting insights into some current transitions I'd be going through and how my intentions came up in different ways.

Mari is super knowledgeable and generous in her sharing of energy work, guiding you through, and holding a safe space. The session was potent (yes, even virtually for those new to this) . She provided incredible follow up information I keep as a reference too, and appreciate that! I'd highly recommend working with her if you're curious about trying Reiki or going deeper into an existing practice.”

Kelly L. Mitchell

Kelly L. Mitchell, LMHC, NCC

Counselor

I have found my niche working with individuals who are struggling with change. Transitions occur in many places, are influenced by factors seen and unseen, and are so often beyond our control. Mood disorders, damaged or absent relationships, anxiety, and depression…I know how terrifying these shifts in our lives can be, and I am your expert in navigating these tumultuous waters.

While earning a bachelor’s degree in business, I quickly learned that I had more of a passion for the people who made up those businesses than the businesses themselves. So, in 1997, I completed my Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the University of North Florida. Since that time, I have worked in public service and private practice with both adolescents and adults. I have spent countless hours exploring new theoretical approaches informed by both science and art in a variety of populations. Each of these experiences adds knowledge and depth to my understanding of the human heart and mind. Because of this, I am skilled in working with individuals and the relationships in which they either flourish or flounder.

Through struggle, I have come to believe that people grow when they choose courage over comfort and vulnerability over shame. We grow when we decide that we are uncomfortable enough to commit to working for change. In my relationship with my husband, Brian, two beautiful children, and three stellar grandsons, I make an effort to practice gratitude and the self-compassion that I share with each of my clients.

- Kathryn

“Kelly is like the human form of a fuzzy blanket and a perfect cup of coffee all in one. Comforting and eye-opening!”

April Jones

Patient Care Coordinator

My name is April Jones, and I’ve been a part of BeNu Integrative Psychiatry since October 2020. I have been in the medical field for over 12 years. I currently reside in Texas with my husband, whom I’ve been married to since 1989, and together we have one wonderful daughter.

At BeNu, I have the privilege of working closely with our patients as they navigate their journeys toward healing and wholeness. Whether I’m scheduling appointments, answering patient questions, or assisting with payments, my goal is to help each person feel cared for and supported. I love working alongside our amazing team and providers to ensure our patients receive the best care possible.

A little about me personally—I have walked through a lot of pain in my life, and it’s been through my own healing journey that I’ve learned the importance of self-love. My experiences led me to start in-person women’s support groups, where I offer a safe space for women to share their stories and explore self-awareness. In 2020, I expanded these groups online to reach more women seeking connection and healing.

In everything I do, whether in my personal life or at BeNu, I believe in the power of authenticity and love to bring about transformation. It’s my joy to support our patients at BeNu as they find healing in their own lives.
